Around 4 a.m. Friday morning, the home of Charles Alan Dyer on Hope Road, east of Marlow, was destroyed by fire.  Dyer arrived on the scene just after 9 a.m. and was supported by his parents a short time later.

The fire comes just prior to the start of his second trial on a child sexual abuse case which begins Monday with jury selection.  The first ended in a mistrial.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's office.  No one appears to have been home at the time of the fire.

FRIDAY P.M. UPDATE: The fire has been ruled "suspicious," according to the State Fire Marshal's office.
