Albert F. Laux of Sterling died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, in Marlow at the age of 90 years, six months and four days.
A funeral mass is planned for Thursday, Feb. 14, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Sterling, with Father Prakash officiating. Burial will follow in the Sterling Cemetery under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. A rosary will be held Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m. at the church.
Albert was born Aug. 7, 1922, to John and Rosa Laux. He attended Sterling Catholic School and later Sterling High School, from which he graduated. Afterward, Albert went to work full-time at his family’s blacksmith shop in Sterling, where he continued to work until 2004, when his health would no longer allow. Albert was a devout Catholic and a lifelong member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Sterling. He was a wonderful man who will be dearly missed.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosa Laux; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews and many friends.
