Bobby Clyde (Bobcat) Abshire, 65, of Chickasha died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, in Chickasha.
Services are planned for Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 10:30 a.m. at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs, with Sister Ellen Abshire officiating. Burial will follow in the Westview Cemetery in Rush Springs under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.
Bobby was born Monday, June 30, 1947, at Fort Cobb to Clyde and Viola (Roberts) Abshire. He grew up in Rush Springs but had lived in Chickasha for the past 30 years. Bobby married the former Shirley Ann Wineburg in Chickasha, and they were married for more than 33 years. He was employed with the parks and sanitation department for the city of Chickasha for 33 years. A small-engine repairman, Bobby enjoyed repairing bicycles for the neighborhood children and loved to scrap. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Abshire, of the home; three sons and a daughter-in-law, David Abshire of Pampa, Texas, Phillip and Misty Murrack of Pampa, and Brandon Abshire of Duncan; four grandchildren, Thomas Abshire, Bryson Murrack, Morgan Abshire and Kennedy Abshire; his mother, Viola Abshire of Pampa; a brother and sister-in-law, Wilbur Ray and Mammy Abshire of Longview, Texas; a sister, Darlene Vickery of Pampa; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Pallbearers are Roy Maloney, Allen Cox, Elgin Rich, Bobby Guerrero, Dan Ward and Joel Hatchett.
