C.C. (Irish) Woods, 89, of Marlow died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, in Ardmore.
Services are planned for Monday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m. at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Irish was born Saturday, Oct. 28, 1922, in Doyle to James Walter and Leona Mae (Sullivan) Woods. He was a lifetime resident of the Marlow area and attended school at Doyle, Pearl and Cox City. Irish served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army Air Corps. Irish enjoyed car trading and working with his cattle. He loved playing dominoes and participating in pool tournaments. Irish was a member of the American Legion for 50 years and a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bill Woods and Thurman Woods; and a sister, Quintella Shelton.
Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Loyd (Shorty) and Linda Woods of Rush Springs, and Phillip and Pam Woods of Marlow; three sisters, Marie Allen and Peggy Upchurch, both of Duncan, and Irene Condit and Jerry of Foster; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are his nephews.
