Earlene O. (MeMe) Forsythe-Gammel, 67, of Marlow died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at her home.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m. at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home, with the Rev. Matt Scraper officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Earlene was born Monday, April 16, 1945, in Marlow to R.A. Mason and Opal Forsythe. She graduated from Marlow High School in 1963. Earlene attended nursing school at St. Anthony’s, where she earned an associate’s degree. She was employed as a registered nurse for many years. She loved nursing and helping people. Earlene enjoyed working in her flower garden and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marlow.
Earlene was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bobby Cox and J.D. Cox; and a sister, Arlene Forsythe Ford.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Woodrow and Angie Gammel of North Pole, Alaska; two daughters, Melissa Gammel of Midwest City, and Susan Gammel of Portland, Ore.; two grandchildren, Bradley Gammel and Mason Gammel-Mubayiwa; a sister, Orene Richey of Marlow; a niece, Debbie Ryals; two nephews, Vince Ford and Chris Ford; a dog, Rowdy; and close friends, Christine Taylor and family.
