Edith Carol (Edie) Burns, 58, of Marlow died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, in Marlow.
Services are planned for Monday, Aug. 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lawrence Gresham officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Edie was born Saturday, Oct. 23, 1954, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to Parley and Freda (Slussar) Burns. She attended Conneaut Valley schools in Pennsylvania. Edie lived in Florida before moving to Marlow in 1995. She was employed with Daybreak Diner as a waitress for several years. Edie enjoyed cooking and visiting with family members and neighbors. She loved being a grandmother and hanging out with her friends.
Edie was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Billy Burns.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Corey and Alycia Burns of Marlow, and A.J. and Jennifer Ohmer of North Carolina; a granddaughter, Brylee Burns of Marlow; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Okey Burns of Ohio, Larry and Grace Burns of Virginia, and Roger and Anita Burns of Ohio; five sisters and a brother-in-law, Pat Briscoe of Marlow, Karen Aponte of Ohio, Helen Burney of Florida, Cathy and Dan HIckcox of Missouri, and Terri Hammond of North Carolina; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Gary Belden of Florida.
Pallbearers are Roy Dale Womack, Craig Briscoe, Randy Briscoe, Ethan Cummings, Blake Moore and Jeff Keenan.
