Edward David Flinner, 68, of Duncan died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, in Duncan.
Services are planned for Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, with Bro. Billy Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home.
Ed was born Thursday, July 19, 1945, in Charleston, W.V., to Delbert Lee and Mary Ezaline (Taylor) Flinner. He lived in Denver, Colo., before moving to Duncan in 1993. Ed was a veteran of the United States Navy. On May 1, 1971, he married the former Arleen Cassil in Marlow.
Ed was employed as a mechanical engineer for Stearns Rodger for several years. He was an avid train collector and ham radio operator, and he loved photography. Ed was a member of City Heights Baptist Church in Duncan, where he served as music director.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Stella Letart; and two brothers, Danny Flinner and Mike Letart.
Survivors include his wife, Arleen Flinner, of the home; a son, Joshua David Flinner of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Karen (Sis) Flinner-Johnson of South Carolina; two grandsons, Timmy Johnson and Andrew Johnson of South Carolina; a great-grandson, Silas Johnson of South Carolina; four brothers, Jerry Flinner and Joe Letart, both of Dallas, Texas, Cleat Letart and Frank Flinner, both of Charleston, W.V.; Cody Stolfa of Oklahoma City; and a number of nieces and nephews.
