Frances Lavana Thompson

Frances Lavana Thompson, 60, of Duncan, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, in Duncan.
Services are planned for Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Marlow, with the Rev. David Woods and the Rev. William White officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Lavana was born Friday, April 11, 1952, in Marlow to Boyd Wayne and Ola Mae (English) Lowe. She graduated from Bray High School in 1970 and lived in the Bray area most of her life. For the past 17 years, she had been a resident of Duncan, where she owned and operated Lavana’s Front Door. Lavana married Barney Thompson on June 29, 1970, in Waurika. They were married for 37 years. Lavana enjoyed decorating homes and visiting with people. She loved reading her Bible and had a strong faith in God. Lavana was a member of the Life Changing Christian Ministries in Duncan.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey Dale Thompson and Marlon Keith Thompson.
Survivors include a son, David Brian Thompson and Christina of Cambridge, Minn.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Stacy Lynn and Mark Williams of Foster, and Angela Gay and Adam Caldwell of Odessa, Texas; six grandchildren, Gage Williams, Makenzy Williams, Rachel Hedlund, Lane Thompson, Bailey Caldwell and Savana Caldwell; her father, Wayne Lowe and his wife Clairetta of Kingfisher; her mother, Oley Alsobrook and her husband Bill of Duncan; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Karen Lowe of Oklahoma City, Donetta and Mike Edge of Kingfisher, Glanice McAdoo of Kingfisher, and Waynette and Dan Alig of Okarche; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Ted Turner, Ronnie Riley, L.W. Dennis, Kevin Kizarr, Marlon Gay and Bob Bentley.
Lavana’s family recommends memorial contributions be made to Chisholm Trail Hospice.
