Grady B. Ford, 79, of Marshall, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 230 p.m. at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with the Rev. Kathleen Schmidtke officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation is slated for Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born March 8, 1933, in Sterling, Grady was the son of Grady Beauchamp Ford and Gladys Waggoner Ford. On Aug. 31, 1973, he married the former Barbara Deal Hemeyer, who survives. Grady was a graduate of Sterling High School and Oklahoma State University, where he was a member of the Oklahoma State National Championship Livestock-Judging Team. He was employed with Wilson Foods for 30 years and served as head hog buyer at the Marshall plant. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Grady was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert (Bob) Ford; and a sister, Betty Blundell.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Josie and James Tarbert of Lemon Grove, Calif.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bret and Shari Ford of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Jeff and April Hemeyer of rural Marshall; five grandchildren, Spencer Ford and wife Megan, Dalton Ford, Bennett Ford, Cassandra Hemeyer and Jack Hemeyer; a great-grandson, Alexi Alvarez; a brother, Ron Ford of Marlow; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Marshall.
