Hunter Tate Vaughn, 15, of Duncan died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, in Oklahoma City.
Services were held Monday, Jan. 14, at New Hope Baptist Church West in Duncan, with the Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Burial followed in the Addington Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Hunter was born Tuesday Oct. 7, 1997, in Duncan to Kenneth and Kristeen (Malone) Vaughn. He lived in the Duncan area his entire life and was a freshman at Duncan High School, where he was a member of the track team. Hunter enjoyed listening to K-LOVE, playing video games, drawing and fishing. He also enjoyed helping his Dad work on cars, and he was always willing to help others. Hunter was a member of New Hope Baptist Church West in Duncan.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Betty Williams; great-grandparents, Jim and JoAnn Palmer, and Katherine and Rick Malone; a cousin, Justin Barney; and an uncle, Edgar Allen Poe.
Survivors include his parents, Kenneth and Kristeen Vaughn, of the home; two brothers, Austin Rose of Lawton and Colby Vaughn of Duncan; two sisters, Shayna Rose of Lawton and Katherine Vaughn of Duncan; his grandfather, Archie Williams of Rush Springs; a number of aunts, uncles and cousins; and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Rick Greer, Chase Row, Anthony Rogers, Jim Nottingham, Donal Domm and Billy Dunn. Honorary bearers were the freshman class at Duncan High School, PJ, and Sam Holthe.
