Judith M. Jones, 74, of Marlow died Saturday, March 16, 2013, in Little Rock, Ark.
Services are planned for Wednesday, March 20, at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Marlow, with the Rev. Matthew Scraper officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Judy was born Thursday, Dec. 15, 1938, in Wynnewood to John L. and Dorothy L. (McClain) Mitchell. She grew up in Marlow, where she graduated from high school in 1956. On Feb. 28, 1959, Judy married Ron Jones in Marlow. They lived and worked in several places throughout the country, including New Jersey, Florida and Tennessee. Judy received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Memphis in 1994 while the family was living in Tennessee.
Judy and Ron returned to Marlow in 1997 to operate the family business, Mitchell and Mitchell, Inc. Judy was extremely active in the community. She was a member of a number of organization, including Delta Sigma, Chapter BK of P.E.O., the United Methodist Women, and Friends of the Library. She held several different offices during her time serving in these organizations. Judy enjoyed spending time with her family and giving of her time to the church. She loved taking care of her home and flower gardens. Judy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marlow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, and a sister, Jane Briscoe.
Survivors include her husband, Ron, of the home; two sons, John Kevin Jones of New York City, N.Y., and Jay Kyle Jones of Marlow; two nieces; and many, many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Marlow.
