Larry Don Scott, 60, of Marlow died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, in Oklahoma City.
Services are planned for Friday, April 19, at 10 a.m. at Eastside Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Larry was born Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1952, in Marlow to Dub and Teenie (Files) Scott. He lived in Marlow his entire life and graduated from Marlow High School in 1971. On March 17, 1972, Larry married the former Jeannie Long in Marlow. He was employed with Halliburton Pump Services for 38 years. He also raised cattle. Larry enjoyed family vacations, spending time at Lake Texoma, going to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, and OU/Texas weekends. He was also an avid Oklahoma City Thunder fan. Larry was a member of the Order of the Red, Red Rose, the American Hereford Association, and the Central Oklahoma Parrot Head Association. He served on the Marlow school board and was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Marlow.
Larry was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Danny Scott.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Scott, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Blas Scott of Frisco, Texas, and Jeff and Penny Scott of Marlow; four grandchildren, Mardi Scott, Emily Scott, Bryce King and Brayden King; his mother, Teenie Scott of Marlow; four nephews, Cody Long, Nick Long, Nathan Scott and Bryan Long; his father- and mother-in-law, Hoot and Mary Lee Long of Marlow; and a brother-in-law, Blaine Long and wife Julie.
Pallbearers are Brannon Gill, Dub Downey, Brendon Perkins, David Horning, Jackie Pendley and Mark O’Neal. Honorary bearers are Glen Dodd and Cotton Liles.
