Marjorie Mildred Hayes, 95, of Marlow died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, in Marlow.
Services are planned for Friday, Sept. 28, at 1 p.m. at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, with the Rev. David Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Margie was born Monday, April 2, 1917, in Garvin County to Frank and Hazel Kirk (Hewes) Jackson. She grew up in Rounds Creek and attended school there. On Oct. 19, 1942, Margie married Willie J. Hayes in Lindsay, and they were married for 47 years before Bill preceded her in death in May of 1989. They farmed and ranched their 160 acres in the Cox City area. Margie was an avid gardener. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and canning. On occasion, she would submit entries in the county fair, winning many ribbons. Margie was an active member of the Knox Pool Home Demonstration Club. She was a lifelong Baptist.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Charles and James; and three sisters, Tressie, June and Sylvia.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Danny Harrison, Harold Archer, Brian Archer, Don Cunningham, Michael Cunningham and Odell Parker. Honorary bearers are Daniel Harrison, Kenneth Archer, Melton Todd, Wilson Hervey and John Patrick Smith.
