Richard Roland Pass, 82, of Comanche died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Lawton.
Services are planned for Friday, Nov. 30, at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Comanche, with Pastor Rick Forthman officiating. Interment will follow at the Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson, with military honors provided by the United States Navy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.
Family visitation is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. today (Thursday) at the funeral home in Wilson.
Richard was born Jan. 1, 1930, at Rexroat in Carter County to Charles Coachworth and Nellie Lucille (Robinson) Pass. He married the former Christine Tadlock on April 10, 1955, at the Methodist Church in Wilson; they were married for 57 years. Richard attended Rexroat High School, where he was a Golden Gloves champion in boxing. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War on the USS Brough (DE-148), a destroyer escort. Richard was employed with Halliburton Services, retiring after 35 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Comanche. He volunteered at the Stephens County Genealogical Society library and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Richard coached several softball and baseball teams in Meridian and attended the many school activities of his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lucille Pass; and three brothers, Nolan, Jerry, and infant Dan Pass.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Pass, of the home; three daughters and  two sons-in-law, Christy and Danny Dumos of Velma, Becky Lynn Sanders of Duncan, and Debbie and Rickey Morgan of Duncan; two sons and daughters-in-law, James Roland and Melisa Pass of Ryan, and Todd and Amy Pass of Bray; 11 grandchildren, Chad Dumos, Lyndal Morgan, Danielle Wilkerson, Kellie McGruder, Clay Dumos, Amanda Sanders, Shelby Sanders, Kiera Pass, Rylie Pass, Morgan Pass and Ryder Pass; six great-grandchildren, Shiloh and Saige Dumos, Ava McGruder and Charity Bartmess, and Dallas and Shelby Landis; a brother, Charles Pass of Tahlequah; and a sister, Dathene Kasey of Norman.
Pallbearers are Chad Dumos, Lyndal Morgan, Clay Dumos, Bobby Tadlock, Stephen Wilkerson and Billey McGruder. Honorary bearers are Toney Hearell, Lance Clark, Dewayne Pass, Richard Michael Hamilton, Raymond Towell and Tommy Harris.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Comanche.
