Tryona Fern Miller, 91, of Chickasha died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, in Chickasha.
Graveside services are planned for Friday, May 10, at 2 p.m. at the Rush Springs Cemetery, with David Hale officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.
Tryona was born Wednesday, July 6, 1921, in Rush Springs to Earl and Martha Lee (Autry) Merritt. She spent her entire life in the Rush Springs area and attended Rush Springs schools. On Oct. 11, 1956, Tryona married Barry B. Miller in Duncan. He preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 1992. Tryona was an excellent cook and loved crocheting, sewing and quilting. She enjoyed being outdoors, bird-watching and working in her garden and flower beds. Tryona loved spending time with her family and playing with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Rush Springs, where she enjoyed attending Sunday School and being involved in the ladies’ ministry group.
Tryona was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a daughter, Marilyn McKay; a grandson, Jonathan Solomon; and two sisters, Jewel Long and Pauline Crow.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Kari Miller of Chickasha; a daughter, Debbie Parker of Duncan; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
