When bubble skirts and blue eyeshadow were cool?
And Atari was considered cutting-edge technology?
It was called “the ’80’s,” and like the blue eye shadow, it was cool.
The Duncan Little Theatre is preparing to transport area patrons to that crazy decade through its upcoming production, Back to the 80’s.
The curtain will rise at 7:30 p.m. at the Simmons Center Theatre on two consecutive Fridays and Saturdays, Feb. 15 and 16, and Feb. 22 and 23.
The musical tells the story of a senior class at William Ocean High School that graduated in the 1980’s, as recalled and seen through the eyes of Corey Palmer, who is now 30-something.
Throw in a Star Wars dream sequence, high-energy dance routines to songs that were popular at the time, the obligatory 80’s party scene, twenty cans of hairspray, along with some of the most popular songs ever written, and voila! you have a musical that not delights audiences of all ages.
