Bray-Doyle loses pair to Rush Springs; Lady Donkeys top CCS

The Bray-Doyle Lady Donkeys could not hold off a rally by Rush Springs as the Lady Redskins overcame a 27-22 halftime deficit to claim a 61-57 victory at Bray.
Bray-Doyle almost pulled the upset. The Lady Donkeys’ Ashlee Kelly poured in 23 points, but Bray-Doyle wore down toward the end of the game.
The Lady Donkeys were out dueled at the free-throw line. B-D was 12-of-20, but Rush Springs was 17-of-27.
Erika Hatfield added 17 points for Bray-Doyle, which dropped to 3-8 on the season. Morgan Kovar and Taylor Nichols contributed eight points each.
Jacy Cullers led Bray-Doyle with 23 points with Kaylin Rennakler scoring 20.
Bray-Doyle will host Velma-Alma on Jan. 4 at 4:30 p.m.
Redskins 54, Donkeys 33
The Bray-Doyle boys hung with Rush Springs for the about a 2 1/2 quarters before Rush Springs was able to pull away.
The Donkeys (0-10) trailed 24-17 at the half and had cut the lead to 26-22 in the third before the Redskins ended the third on a 14-7 run and then continued to pull away in the fourth quarter.
Bray-Doyle was led by Jesse Bearce and Josh Goodrich with nine points each. Greg Perez added six.
Jakobi Mays scored 18 to lead Rush Springs. Aaron Morrow had 12.
Lady Donkeys 46, Lady Knights 30
On Dec. 15, the Bray-Doyle girls broke open a close game in the third quarter on a 13-3 run to pull away for the win.
Bray-Doyle was down 22-20 at the half before mounting the comeback.
Ashlee Kelly led Bray-Doyle with 17 points with Erica Hatfield with 14 and Morgan Kover with 10.
