Lady Donkeys are perfect for August, CHS wins 11th

The Bray-Doyle Lady Donkeys fast-pitch softball team completed a perfect first month with an 11-3 victory over 12th-ranked Rush Springs Monday night.
The run-rule win moved the Donkeys to 13-0 on the season, as Bray-Doyle was ranked No. 8 in Tuesday’s coaches’ poll on OkRankings.com.
Bray-Doyle struck first and did not let up on the Lady Redskins, scoring four runs in the first inning, and another three runs in the second for a 7-0 lead.
Rush Springs cut into the lead with one run in the top of the third, but the Lady Donkeys answered that score with a run in the bottom of the fourth.
The Lady Redskins added two more runs in the top of the fifth, but Kendra Balthrop blasted a three-run homer to end the game.
Shelbi Copeland also went deep for the Lady Donkeys, and Erica Hatfield was 2-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI.
Sarah Justus picked up the victory, allowing seven hits and striking out three. She was also 2-for-2, scoring four times.
The Lady Donkeys are scheduled to host Verden today (Thursday) at 4:30.
Central High downs Verden
The Lady Bronchos moved to 11-3, and remained the No. 11 team in Class A, with a 12-0 run-rule at Verden.
Christa Sparks limited Verden to three hits, while striking out three, in four innings of work for the win.
Central High scored six in the second and six in the fourth. Morgan Hood drove in three, as part of a 2-for-4 performance, and Austyn Taylor was 2-for-3, while driving in two.
The Lady Bronchos will travel to Elmore City today (Thursday) for a 5:30 game.
Marlow wins wild one
The Lady Outlaws scored 15 runs before Pauls Valley could plate their first in a 17-8 victory to move Marlow to 8-10 on the season.
Marlow sent 16 batters to the plate in a 12-run second inning in which Avery Walker, Erin Crosby and Rachel Horning scored twice.
Pauls Valley battled back to score three runs in the fourth off a walk, and error, and two hits. The Lady Panthers plated five in the fifth sending 10 batters to the plate, but the damage was done.
Ashton Major got the win for the Lady Outlaws, striking out two.
Over the weekend, the Lady Outlaws dropped two at the Hall of Fame Festival in Oklahoma City, after beating Lawton High, 8-7, on Thursday.
Marlow is scheduled to host Lawton Ike at 5 p.m. today.
