Tommy Ray Gardner

Tommy Ray Gardner, 76, of Marlow, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, at his home. Tommy was born August 17, 1941, in Chickasha to Junior Melton and Mary E. (Akery) Gardner.

Family visitation will be at Whitt Funeral Home on Friday, January 12, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 16, at 2 p.m. at the Marlow Cemetery with Mark Hawkins officiating. Services have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.

Tommy graduated from Marlow High School and attended Oklahoma State University and then graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford with a Master’s degree in Chemistry.

He married Laketa Rae Turner on March 6, 1963, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was employed by Halliburton Energy Services as a chemist for 36 years.

Tommy enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spent his days fishing. He loved his family dearly, spending as much time with them as possible.

He is survived by his son, Tommy D. and wife, Cheryl Gardner of Duncan; his daughter, Raeann and husband, David Meyer of Stillwater; his granddaughter, Taylor Cheyenne Gardner and her fiancé, Ben Pettit; his grandchildren, Brandon Carletti-Silva, Bradley Carletti-Silva, Braxton Thompson, and Jennifer Wilson; his sisters-in-law, Ann and husband, Pat Mullen, and Sharon and husband, Larry McCord; and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and an infant son, Tommy Ray Gardner, Jr.
