Robert Royce Garrison

Robert Royce Garrison, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2018, in Marlow. He was 84.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at the Chisholm Trail Church of Christ, with Leonard Keale officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Robert was born Wednesday, October 11, 1933, to Wilmer P. and Mary Armetta (Peters) Garrison near Fletcher and grew up in this area. He was a graduate of Marlow High School and went on to earn his Bachelors Degree in agriculture from Oklahoma A & M. He married his one great love, Patsy Lois Appling, on June 8, 1974, in Marlow and the two of them had numerous adventures together, traveling in their RV to every state in the continental United States and by air all over the world. The two were inseparable until Patsy's preceded death on May 6, 2014. If you knew Robert, you knew he loved to work on his tractor, not that a John Deere would ever break down, and tinker in his shop. In addition to his seat time on the tractor, Robert loved to work with his registered herd of Santa Gertrudis cattle. He was a giving man and always sponsored a pig, horse or even cattle on occasion to the Westview Boys Home for the boys to raise and show. He and Patsy were chosen as the Marlow Chamber of Commerce Farm Family of the Year in 1992 in recognition for his dedicated work. He was a member of the Chisolm Trail Church of Christ and was heavily involved there. Robert was good natured, hard working and a loving husband, father, and grandfather and spent many hours with another great love of his, his great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include daughter, LaNena Hardy of Duncan; three grandchildren, Scotty Hale, Jill A. Miller, and Alyssa M. Baecker; eight great-grandchildren, Caitlin Hale Billieu, Thaylor Hale, Madeline Hale, Abigale Lila Hale, Brittney Wright, Blake Wright, Gabrielle Baecker, and Saylor Morales; four great-great-grandchildren, Jett Wright, Chevy Wright, Grayson Billieu, and Jameson Cowher; brother: Lloyd Garrison of Duncan; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wilford Garrison; and two sisters, Melba Patterson and Marilyn Wallbridge.

Memorial donations in Robert's honor may be made to the Chisolm Trail Church of Christ Building Fund or the Westview Boys Home.

Pallbearers will be Scott Hale, Ryan Morales, Brian Appling, Troy Appling, Jim Berry and Bob Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders of the Chisholm Trail Church of Christ.
