Ronald Lee Ford

Ronald Lee Ford passed from this life and into eternity on Friday, February 23, 2018.

The youngest of Beauchamp and Gladys, Ronald was born on the eastern edge of Comanche County on the family homestead on August 17, 1940. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1958 and joined the United States Marine Corps in 1959. After being discharged, he came home and married Williene Sullivan on Sept. 14, 1963.

Ronald worked at a variety of places including Elgin Feed and Seed, Halliburton as a cement driver, Marlow Sonic as a manager, Waller Machine and Ft. Sill as a civil maintenance employee. His longest and most fulfilling work was as owner/operator of Model T Dairy from 1973-1988. Following his retirement from Ft. Sill, he and his wife moved to Marlow.

Ronald loved to hunt and camp; drive the boat while his kids skied, even learning how to ski himself; to garden; attend gun shows always looking for that one specific gun, trading guns; attend his grandchildren’s events; play dominoes. He attended many churches throughout his life and kept his membership at Denton Baptist.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Williene; his three children, Donna, Chet and Berry; grandchildren, Rebecca and Coy Buchanan, Drew Horning, Whitney Ford, Rachel and John Harrison, and Morgan Ford; great-grandchildren, Trevor Gibson, Katie and Brooklyn Harrison; nieces and nephews, Pam, Susan, Josie, Bret, Steve, and Jeff; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Ford and Judy Jones.

He is preceded in death by brothers, Bob and Grady; sister, Betty Blundell; and nephew, Bobby Ford.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, February 27, at the First Baptist Chapel.

Per Ronald’s request, his ashes will be scattered in the places he held dear to his heart.
