Otis Earlie Williams

April 23, 2018

Otis Earlie Williams was born November 17, 1934, to Oscar and Eufaula Williams in Ryan, Oklahoma. He passed from this life into his Heavenly home on Friday, April 20, 2018, in Lawton, at the age of 83. Services will be held at Glory Bound Church in Marlow at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 23rd. Family visitation was held Sunday, April 22 at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Otis spent most of his school years at Ryan, where he lived until he married the love of his life, Melva Marie Patterson, on December 21, 1956, in Duncan. After the wedding, he and his wife moved to Marlow where they have been residents for 60 years. They were blessed with 60 years of marriage, eight children, 24 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two more greats on the way. Otis was also known to many by the nickname, “Pete.”

As a member of the Marlow First Assembly of God Church, Otis served for many years in the past as Sunday School Superintendent and deacon. He had also been a Youth Leader and often sang vocals. He loved the Lord and his church. His favorite past time was playing dominoes and he loved to fish. His career began at Kirkpatrick's Furniture and Appliance and later at Curtis Refrigeration where he learned appliance repair. He later worked at Jones Foods in Duncan for over 20 years and then at Paul Scales for about 30 years. He truly enjoyed working on appliances and visiting with the many customers he had over the years visiting home after home. He did part-time appliance repair for over 40 years until his health no longer allowed him to do so.

Many Marlow neighbors knew the Williams family by the sounds of the volleyball games coming from the backyard every summer. Friends, neighbors, and relatives filled the yard many nights and Otis and Marie were right there playing alongside all of them. This was a family tradition for many years. These are some of the most cherished times spent together.

Otis was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; a brother, Robert Williams; two sisters, Virginia Davis and Dorothy Whitaker; and a great-granddaughter, Claira Sims. He is survived by eight children and their spouses, Sherry and Charles Easley, Connie and Randall Faudree, and Scottie and Leann Williams, all of Marlow; Larry and Sandy Williams, Jimmy and Jean Williams, Tammy and Steve Nalley, and Betty and Ralph Beck, all of Duncan; as well as Ronnie and Angela Williams of Artesia, New Mexico. He is also survived by his 24 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jesse Williams; a sister, Rosa Duncan; and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
