Mary Juanita Zachary

Mary Juanita Zachary, departed this life on Sunday, May 20, 2018, in Duncan at the age of 84.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at the Central High Baptist Church, with Rev. Darrell Blaine officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Creek Cemetery. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Juanita was born Wednesday, June 21, 1933, in Ninnekah, to Fred and Alice (Wilson) Worbes. She grew up in the Ninnekah area and later moved to Wagoner where she graduated from high school. She attended college at Otero Junior College in La Junta, CO where she received her associate’s degree. She married the love of her life, James Chester Zachary on December 9, 1950, in Wagoner. They had 53 wonderful years before his passing on January 21, 2004. Juanita had a servant’s heart that worked as a childcare supervisor for the Colorado Boys Ranch for over 23 years. She was a lifelong lover of children as she took many into her home when they had nowhere to go. She was always working with children in addition to raising her own children; she fostered more than 20 children that she considered her own. She was named Colorado Mother of the Year. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and a very loving and giving person with a heart of gold. She enjoyed crocheting. She was an avid sports fan who loved all kinds of sports and could tell you all about the teams. Juanita was a very active member of the Central High Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Chester Zachary and wife, Magaly Rincon of Wichita Falls, Texas; James Zachary and wife, Gwendolyn of Edmond; Ken Zachary of Lawton; a daughter, Judi Priest and husband, Paul of Marlow; six grandchildren, Magly Miller and husband, Mark; Katiuska Herrador; Shannon Goodwin and husband, Kyle; Johnny Zachary; C.J. Priest; Zac Priest and wife, Summer; 11 great-grandchildren, Graciela Herrador, Mariela Herrador, Kaden Goodwin, Kale Goodwin, Kirk Goodwin, Kameron Goodwin, D.J. Zachary, Kolton Zachary, Hannah Priest, Riley Priest, and Preslie Priest; a brother, Ivan Dale Worbes and wife, Maxine of Hope, AR; and a sister-in-law, Georgene Zachary of Tulsa. She is also survived by three foster sons, James Lopez of La Junta, CO; Bob Flos of Colorado Springs, CO; and Shane Hiett of Wichita Falls, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Wade Worbes; and six sisters, Loraine, Louise, Jo Ane, Myrtle, Mary, and Monteray.

Pallbearers will be C.J. Priest, Zac Priest, Johnny Zachary, D.J, Zachary, and James Lopez.
