Patty Ann Lawrenz

Patty Ann Lawrenz, departed this life on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, in Marlow at the age of 82.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 11, 2018, at the Marlow Cemetery, with Rev. Mike Bernhardt officiating. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Patty was born Sunday, November 10, 1935, in Duncan, to Joseph Earl and Nora (Coleman) Hammond. She graduated with the Duncan High School Class of 1953. She lived in the Gatlin area for 19 years until moving to her Marlow home 38 years ago. She married the love of her life, Russell Lawrenz, on November 14, 1953, in Duncan. They had 49 wonderful years before his passing on March 12, 2003. Patty loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. From shopping for shoes at Rovena's Shoe Bazaar for her daughters and granddaughters to baking cookies and candy for everyone’s care packages that she loved sending to them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt that had a heart of gold. She enjoyed going to the Marlow Library and gardening. Patty was a member of the Duncan Garden Club, Outlaw Squares, and the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Marlow.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Lawrenz and wife, Robbie of Marlow; Paul Lawrenz and wife, Yvonne of Niceville, FL; three daughters, Shari Trusty and husband, Dr. Kelby Trusty of Aubrey, Texas; Candace Lawrenz-Cookingham and husband, Dr. Cory Cookingham of Fountain, CO; Lori Lawrenz of Jacksonville, FL; a darling niece, Gayla Hunter of Duncan; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, OG Hammond; and three sisters, Gertrude Creel, Marquerite Doerr, and Esther Smith.

Pallbearers will be Jay Lewis, Lee Lewis, Michael Sheppard, Jon Lewis, Cory Cookingham Jr., and Russell Lawrenz.
