Dale "Tater" Lee Barton, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018, in Wilson, at the age of 46.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow, with Rev. David Woods officiating. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Tater was born Thursday, March 16, 1972, in Thomas, OK, to Lara Joe and Betty Sue (Watts) Barton. He graduated from Bright Star High School in Arkansas. He lived in the southern Carter County area for the last 14 years. He married Vanessa Cheek in Ardmore on May 29, 2007. They had been married for 11 years. He was in the United States Army and served in Desert Storm as a demolition engineer. He worked for the Michelin Tire Plant for the last 2 years as a tire builder. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed riding his Harley and spending time in the country talking with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Vanessa Barton of Lone Grove; a daughter, MaKenzie Miller and husband, Adam of Lone Grove; three grandchildren, Amelia Grace Miller, Weston James Miller, and Eleanor MaLynn Miller; his mother, Betty Sue Barton of Marlow; six brothers, William Barton and wife, Carrie of Wilson; Wayne Barton of Velma; Richard Crenwelge and wife, Anita of Marlow; Charles Chambles and wife, Connie of Yukon; Donny Chambles and wife; Flo of Altoona, AL; and Bobby Chambles of Altoona, AL; three sisters, Peggy Whaley and husband, Donnie of Marlow; Donna Barton of Tatum; and Shelly Chambles of Altoona, AL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Hal Cheek and wife, Treva of Gene Autry; sister-in-law, Brenda Clark of Ardmore; brother-in-law, Clay Cheek Gardner of Ardmore; father-in-law, Charles Williams of Ardmore; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lara Joe Barton; four brothers, Bobby Barton, Rickie T Barton, Jackie Ray Crenwelge, and Billy Dan Crenwelge; and two sisters, Tina Barton and Tonya Crenwelge.

Honorary Pallbearers will be William Barton, Wayne Barton, Ryan Clark, and Charles Clark.
