Marlow Samaritans begin taking applications for Christmas boxes
The Marlow Samaritans, a United Way Agency, will begin taking applications for their annual Christmas food boxes beginning the week after Thanksgiving.
Applicants are to come by the Marlow Samaritan building, located at 214 West Main in downtown Marlow and complete the necessary form in order to receive Christmas food boxes on Dec. 15th.
The Christmas boxes will replace the regular December food distribution. “Anyone who is participating in the monthly food program is not automatically qualified for the annual Christmas box,” said Carolyn Lowe, food program director. “It is completely separate from our monthly distribution.”
“Anyone who would like a Christmas box must come by the office, in person, in order to fill out and sign the request form,” said Sandy Chatfield, secretary. “They will need to bring a photo ID, and proof of their residency.
“Only residents of Marlow, who live in the Marlow School District, will qualify for the Marlow Samaritan Christmas distribution,” she added.
Sign up dates for the Marlow Samaritans boxes are: Monday thru Thursday, Nov. 26, 27, 28 and 29 and Monday thru Wednesday, Dec. 3, 4, and 5, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. No one will be allowed to sign up after Dec. 5th.
Again, the Marlow Samaritans want to stress that only those who sign up will receive the Christmas Boxes, which are scheduled to be given out at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, at the First Baptist Church Life Center, located on N. 4th Street.
Bray and Central High Distribution Dates
Food distribution dates for Bray Food Bank are Nov. 28 and Dec. 19th, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Central High’s Distribution date for December is the 11th, from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
