Joanne G. Brooks

Marlow: Joanne G. Brooks, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in Marlow at the age of 82. Cremation has taken place a memorial services will take place at a later date with an announcement to follow. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow. Joanne was born Tuesday, November 17, 1936 in Fairfax, VA, to Maurice C. and Louise M. (Bowling) Gheen. She graduated with the Herndon Class of 1955. Joanne married the love of her life, Frank Gene Brooks in Fairfax, VA on October 5, 1957. They enjoyed 61 year wonderful years together before her passing. She lived in various places throughout the state of Virginia and eventually moving to the Marlow area nearly 30 years ago. Joanne enjoyed traveling with the husband and had visited all 50 states as well as seeing Italy, Australia, and Mexico. She loved crafting of all kinds including crocheting. Joanne was an active member of numerous organizations including Oklahoma Home Extension Club, VFW # 4888, and the Eastern Star # 38 as well as being a longtime member of the Hope Community Church. Survivors include, her husband, Gene Brooks of the home, 3 sons, Michael Brooks and wife Kaki of Berthoud, CO, Christopher Brooks of Thorton, CO, William Brooks of Thorton, CO, 4 grandchildren, Kaitlyn DiMarzio and husband Luc, Corey Brooks and wife Amber, Jessica Brooks, Dylan Brooks, 3 great-grandchildren, Dresden DiMarzio, Lila DiMarzio, Arrow Baird. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Judy Weese of Stratford, VA, and Sandra Blevins of Front Royal, VA. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Shirley Barr, Nancy Fox.
