Monte Delano Fincher
Marlow: Monte Delano Fincher, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 in Marlow, at the age of 84.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 10, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Marlow, with Dr. Joe Ligon and Rev. Ron Maxfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Monte was born Wednesday, October 31, 1934 in Stephens County, to Melvin James and Ann (Steward) Fincher. He attended school at Marlow, Central High, and Cameron University. Monte had lived in the Stephens County area most of his life. He worked as a mailman in Duncan for over 18 years. Monte married the love of his life, Betty Nevels on August 20, 1953 in Marlow at the Nazarene church. They were married for 65 wonderful years before his passing. He enjoyed working on cars and woodworking. Monte loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Lions Club, Masons, and the First Baptist Church in Marlow.
Survivors include, his wife, Betty Fincher of Marlow, 3 sons, James Monroe Fincher, Monte Lee Fincher, Tony Fincher and wife Terrie of Marlow, a daughter, Sharon Kay Johnson and husband Brian of Wilson. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a sister, Susan Marquiss of Omaha, NE, and a niece, Sara Marquiss of Omaha, NE.
Monte was preceded in death by his father, Melvin James Fincher, mother, Ann Gillett, stepmother, Cleo Fincher, stepfather, J.J. Gillett, a granddaughter, Misty Dawn Eggers and a stepbrother, Charles Carlisle.
Pallbearers will be: Casey Fincher, Jeremy Fincher, Josh Fincher, Justin Fincher, Dylan Seeley, and Ethan Seeley.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ike Eisenlohr and Lyndol Jones.
