Billy Don Neeld

January 10, 2019

Billy Don Neeld, age 61, of Marlow, was a man of many skills. But, being a cowboy at heart, the skills he enjoyed the most, those that made him truly happy, were those he used when he was ranching. He was comfortable in his red shirt and cowboy hat. And you could see a sparkle in his blue eyes, evidence that he was full of orneriness as he was of love.

He was blessed with, and so proud of his children, all “ his, hers, and ours”. First, blessed with daughter Jessie Brooke, and Lauren. Later in life, with his wife, Sandy, his family and blessings increased by son and daughters, Barry, Jensan, and Jetta. In time, he found reason to joking call himself “ Red Neck Daddy Daycare” with the addition of 9 grandchildren.

With the care and support of the kind professionals of Duncan Cancer Center and eventually Chisholm Trail Hospice, Billy bravely battled cancer for seven years. He peacefully passed away in him home, with family at his side, December 28, 2018.

Billy was born April 6, 1957 to parents Floyd Neeld Sr. and Dorothy Braswell, south of the Red River, in Dallas Texas. Oklahoma later became his home. When asked his location, his favorite answer was “North of the Red River”. As his spirit journey takes him to another home “North of the Red River”, with both sorrow and love in our hearts, we bid him “ride o cowboy, ride on…”. He will greatly be missed.
