United Way Contributions Continue Toward Goal

January 02, 2020

United Way has hit the 65% mark due to the contributions of Duncan Regional Hospital (DRH) team members. The annual campaign began with the annual chili cook-off and continued with the employee pledge drive that helped the United Way move toward the campaign fundraising goal of $325,000.
“The DRH team raised over $52,000 for this year’s United Way Campaign. I am truly proud of our team’s internal fundraising efforts. This represents a fantastic commitment to improving lives throughout our community.” said LeAnn McCord, campaign coordinator for DRH.

Patty Wininger, co-chairman of the campaign, added, “As a former employee of DRH, I am so happy for the success. They truly understand the need and work of the United Way. I encourage everyone to get involved and make a difference as 99% of funds raised stay in Stephens County.”

Funds raised support 14 partner agencies that include CASA of Southwest Oklahoma, Christians Concerned, Douglass East Side Senior Citizens Center, Duncan Area Literacy Council, Duncan Community Residence, Duncan Senior Citizens Center, Gabriel’s House, Girls Scouts, HeartLine 2-1-1, Legal Aid Services, Marie Detty Youth & Family Services, Marlow Samaritans, Safe Center and Velma Senior Citizens Center.

Contributions can be dropped off at the United Way office at 12 S. 8th St., Suite 9 in Duncan or mailed to P.O. Box 1632, Duncan, OK 73534. Contributions may also be made over the phone at 580-255-3648 or on the organization’s website: www.unitedwayofsc.org.
