Marjorie LaRue (Payne) Sealey

Marjorie LaRue (Payne) Sealey was born in Madill, Oklahoma on April 12, 1944 to Margaret Ruth (McHargue) Payne and Johnnie Lee Payne. She attended school in Kermit, Texas then took a trip in the fall of ‘62 to visit her grandmother in Madill, Oklahoma where she met the love of her life, Leonard W. Sealey. They were united in marriage on December 6, 1962.

Margie was a proud Army wife who traveled to Germany for three tours with her husband (Fulda, Nuremberg and Hanua) and raised their family for his entire military career. They were stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Rucker, Alabama, and Fort Sill, Oklahoma where they retired and later settled in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Margie passed from this life after a courageous battle with cancer on July 2, 2022 at home in Duncan, Oklahoma at the age of 78. She was surrounded by her loving family who will cherish their time with her forever.

Margie loved spending time with her husband, family and friends. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, going to garage sales, reading, playing cards, board games and doing jigsaw puzzles. Margie and Leonard enjoyed playing shuffleboard at the Moose Lodge, going to cooking classes together and going to the Chickasaw Nation Senior Site.

Margie loved to have a good time, she would fill a room with laughter with her witty remarks and banter, especially with her husband.

Margie leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Leonard, of the home. Their three children: Sandra Sealey and John Lavender of Yukon, Gerald Sealey and his family, Kiondra, Zay’Veon, and Mi’Angel of Altus, and Patty and Arthur Ellsworth of Marlow. Her sister, Johnna (Ruthie) Payne of Tishomingo and brother and sister-in-law, Johnnie and Larece Payne of Kingston. Grandchildren; Dylan and Otokahe Redbird of Ada, Nicholas Ellsworth of Marlow, Aly Ellsworth-Tuttle of Newcastle, Dallas Sealey of Yukon, Jessica Ellsworth of Lawton, Taylor Ellsworth-Walls of Duncan, Beca Sealey of Yukon, Jaxon Sealey and Jasper Sealey of Altus. Great grandchildren; Journie, Riley, Anessa, Ethan, Luca, Leo, Skyla and Alayna.

She was preceded in death by her parents: two brothers, Ronnie Payne and George (Joe) Payne; and her younger sister, Mary Payne.

Her honorary pallbearers are Dylan Redbird, Nicholas Ellsworth, Dallas Sealey, Jaxon Sealey, Jasper Sealey and Daniel Picazo.

We are sincerely grateful to the many friends and family who have given us support and comfort during this time of loss. Special thanks is also given to her hospice team at Chisholm Trail Hospice for the loving care and support they gave to our Mom and family – Dawn, Autumn, David, Melissa and Kathy.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Thursday, July 7, at 2:00 P.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Jack Darnell officiating. A live stream of her service will be available by visiting her obituary at www.whittfh.com. Her honorary pallbearers are Dylan Redbird, John Lavender, Dallas Sealey, Jaxon Sealey, Jasper Sealey and Daniel Picazo. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
