RUSH SPRINGS, Okla. - Leroy Basil Hatfield, 93, died Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, in Duncan. Memorial Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, at Callaway Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Leroy was born in Brooklyn, NY to George and Jean DeBell.

He attended Berkshire Farm School. Leroy married his best friend, Shirley Parish, in September 1992 in Oklahoma City. He and Shirley shared more than 29 years together.

Leroy was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He served his country as a proud member of the United States Army (1951-1954), United States Marines (1954-1957), and the United States Air Force (1956-1976). He took pride in serving as Vice Commander. Leroy enjoyed spending time at the VFW, tinkering, and farm repair.

Leroy loved his family and cherished any time spent with them. He will be missed by many. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Hatfield of Rush Springs; son, Peter Hatfield; daughter, Heidi Diehl; many grandchildren.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, John DeBell, David Debell, and Nicholas Temperly, and sister, Patsy O’Neil. Online condolences may be made to www. CallawaySmithCobb. com
