The event is to help those who would otherwise spend a Christmas dinner alone or can’t prepare a meal for themselves.

Clyde Shaw, president of this year’s event, said that since 1988, the dinner has grown from 440 to over 3,800 meals with more than 200 volunteers. All contributions are acceptable, from monetary donations to gifts of food, or volunteering time.

“We anticipate continued growth of this program where all proceeds and donations go to feed people in this community.

Also on the board is Maggie Cunningham, Pamela Barker, Gary Douglas, Clayton Pickard, Eric Davis, Dylan Hendricks, Krystal Vonfeldt, Anita Johns and Billy Morgan.
