CAN-DO ATTITUDE: Gearing up for the Marlow Samaritans’ 2011 Christmas basket program are, from left, members of the agency’s board of directors Bill Carter and Terrie Phillips, along with representatives of the First National Bank in Marlow—Nicolas Mansfield, Bernice Young, Donna Lowry, Gertha Miller and Lavelle Anderson. The cans of food pictured are only a sampling of the supply already collected in the bank’s second annual food drive for the Samaritans. This year’s campaign theme is “Help Us Pay.” Last year, 4,200 cans of food were collected in the bank’s campaign; and this year’s goal is 8,000 cans. According to FNB president Keith Mansfield, the bank will continue to accept canned goods through 2 p.m. on Dec. 30 to help in restocking the Samaritans’ food pantry after the holidays.
