‘A STAR IS BORN’: Bettie Cooper, left, and Lois Deasy are all smiles after the Patio Club’s entry in last Saturday’s state flower show took top honors in its division (note the blue ribbon that Lois is holding). Using a portrait of movie icon Marilyn Monroe, a dressing table and splashes of hot pink, including a lush arrangement of fuchsia roses in a crystal vase, the club had designed and pulled together their prize-winning entry.
