IN THE DISPATCHER’S SEAT: An emergency dispatcher has four main tools. To the left is the state computer, which also houses the call log. The phone console is in the middle, with the national computer to the right. The small white-trimmed monitor is where 911 calls are displayed. Officials said the phone console would be some of the equipment replaced, along with some hardware housed in other areas of the station, when an Enhanced 911 system is purchased.
