ENRICHING LIVES: Fostering a spirit of service and instilling self-esteem in children are two of the principal purposes of Beautiful Day, an area initiative established in 2013 by, standing from left, Michele Johnson and Leah Miller. Also pictured is Jan Palovik, coordinator of Kindred Community, an outreach ministry focused on building a support network among widows. Kindred Community was established last fall under the umbrella of Beautiful Day.
