James "Jim" Wiley Burnett

James "Jim" Wiley Burnett, passed away at his home Sunday, August 27, 2017. He was 79.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, August 9, 2017, at the Marlow Cemetery, with Rev. Ron Maxfield officiating. All arrangements have been entrusted to the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Jim was born Friday, April 22, 1938, in Morenci, AZ, to Vaul and Susie (Bess) Burnett. He attended Rush Springs Schools and had lived in the Marlow area all of his life until the past year when he moved to Duncan. Jim had worked as a pipefitter and served in the US Navy. He loved to go fishing and enjoyed auctions and flea markets as well. Jim liked working in his garden and whittling things for people.

Survivors include his son, James Burnett and Somer Brown of Duncan; son, Coby Burnett of Marlow; daughter, Tammy Burnett of Marlow; granddaughter, Whitley Brown of Duncan; grandson, Wyatt Brown of Duncan; and a brother, Charles "Edd" Burnett of Norman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Howard Joe Burnett.
