Large competing for Miss NOC Enid

Alexis Large, Rush Springs, is one of four candidates vying for the title of Miss NOC Enid at the annual dual Miss Northern Oklahoma College Enid-Miss Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa Scholarship Competition, according to pageant director Terri Sunderland.

The competition is set for today (Thursday) at NOC Tonkawa.

The four Miss NOC Enid candidates and six contenders for the Tonkawa title will parade on stage in the Kinzer Performing Arts Center, 1220 East Grand, Tonkawa, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Miss Oklahoma 2018 Ashley Thompson will speak and will perform during the evening. Also performing will be Miss NOC Enid 2018, Lexi Neahring of Enid.

Admission to the competition is free.

Miss NOC Enid candidates in addition to Large include Brianna Crosswhite and Johnetta Washington, Enid, and Shaelee Sissom, Kremlin.

Prior to the competition, contestants will be individually interviewed by judges. During the competition, they will compete in lifestyle and fitness in swimwear, artistic expression, presence and poise in evening wear and on-stage question.

Miss NOC Enid 2019 will receive a $1000 scholarship expense award, a maximum $1,000 clothing allowance to be used towards the Miss Oklahoma Competition and a photo shoot with the official Miss Oklahoma photographer and hairstylist valued at $750. In addition, she will receive various gifts, including an official Miss Oklahoma crown and local sash, Miss Oklahoma pin and a 16”x20” framed portrait. She will represent NOC Tonkawa in the Miss Oklahoma Scholarship Competition in Tulsa next June.

Scholarship expense awards in the amounts of $600 will go to the first runner-up, and each non-finalist will receive a $250 tuition waiver participation award. 

Dr. Edward Dixon, NOC fine arts division chair, will act as master of ceremonies for the pageant.
