Much-Anticipated Deli Open on Main

Kyla Garza, owner of Big Belly Deli, has been planning for this day for over a year. “We broke ground in December, but [the restaurant] has been in the works since last summer,” Garza said. Today is their first full day to be open to the public after a soft opening for friends and family last Friday and another during lunch on Tuesday.

The restaurant stands on what was once a vacant lot on Main Street. It now boasts a large kitchen, serving counter, family-style and individual tables, and a covered outdoor seating area. The menu, on chalkboard-style signs as well as printed copies, offers sandwiches, salads, soup, and bakery items. The full menu is available during regular hours.

Also in the offing are 20-ounce and 32-ounce insulated tumblers that, once purchased, can be brought back and refilled for $1 for fountain drinks and $2 for coffee.

Big Belly Deli is located at 407 W. Main Street and is open 7am – 9pm seven days a week.
