Geneva "Nana" Simpson

Geneva "Nana" Simpson, passed away Friday,  September 27, 2019 in Marlow at the age of 93.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, October 4, 2019, at the Marlow Cemetery, with  James Mitchell officiating.  All arrangements have been entrusted to the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Geneva was born Monday,  November 2, 1925 in Amber, to Clyde Eugene and Vashita Inezz (Hickman) Simpson. She graduated from Amber High School and had lived in the Grady and Stephens County areas all of her life. Geneva married the love of her life, A.J. Hollis Simpson Jr. in San Diego, California on December 23, 1944. They were married for 41 wonderful years before his passing on September 25, 1985. Geneva enjoyed working on the family farm; raising her chicken. She was an avid reader that was a home body. Geneva enjoyed cooking and canning. She was a true OU fan. Geneva loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible especially her grandchildren.    

Survivors include, her daughter, Darlene Welch and wife husband Garry of Marlow, 4 grandchildren, John Marinko and wife Erin, Tina Bishop, Steven Brown and wife Elizabeth, Kevin Brown, 5 great-grandchildren, Caitlynn Brown, A.J. Brown, Austin Smith, Gage Jones, Sarah Waggner, and a great-great grandson, Ian Waggner. She was also survived by a brother, Herman Stephens and wife Marletta of Chickasha, a sister-in-law, Karen Stephens of Ninnekah, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Geneva was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Hoffman, her parents, a brother, Gene Stephens, and a sister, Colleen Malone.
