United Way Fundraising campaign hits 25%

November 14, 2019

United Way of Stephens County thermometer boards marking the campaign progress of 25% have been put up in Comanche, Duncan, Marlow and Velma. This year the goal is $325,000 with monies designated to help the 14 partner agencies that make up the United Way of Stephens County.

Campaign leaders are busy with Loaned Executives making presentations to local business and industries while Campaign Co-Chairmen Floyd and Patty Wininger have saturated the area with personalized letters to previous donors as well as making presentations to local civic, service and study clubs.
“We have faith our home strong caring community is giving generously to insure the 14 United Way agencies are funded so that hope, help, and dignity will reach our neighbors in need. These 14 agencies touch lives of nearly every friend and neighbor you know in some way. The statistics are people not numbers,” said Floyd. “Let’s make it personal in our giving,” added Patty.

Agencies supported by the United Way are CASA of Southwest Oklahoma, Christians Concerned, Douglass East Side Senior Citizens Center, Duncan Area Literacy Council, Duncan Community Residence, Duncan Senior Citizens Center, Gabriel’s House, HeartLine 2-1-1, Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma, Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, Marie Detty Youth & Family Services, Marlow Samaritans, Safe Center and Velma Senior Citizens Center.
