St. Jude Fundraiser at Dollar General

Dollar General locations across the district, including Marlow, Rush Springs, and Duncan, are raising funds for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Marlow store is not only accepting donations at the register, but also holding a raffle for a tower speaker and a gift basket.

“We set a goal of $1200 at our store,” said employee Miranda Hance. “But we’ve already gone over and we still have until the 15th.”

The fundraiser continues through Sunday and the raffle will be held on Monday.

“We’re currently the number two fundraiser in the district,” Hance said. “That’s all because our customers are generous and want to help.”

St. Jude hospital, based in Memphis, TN, does research and treatment of childhood cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Patients at St. Jude are not charged for their treatment, and the majority of funding comes from individual contributions.
