The Stephens County Humane Society and Forman Prairie House partnered this past weekend to host a joint fundraising event at the Forman Prairie House on Saturday July 11th. The event included dog washing stations where members of the community could bring their dogs and for $20 the volunteers would bathe the dogs while their owners enjoyed food from the Eats and Beats food truck or a beer from local brewery Kochendorfer Brewing Company while listening to live entertainment as well as looking over the several items up for bid at the silent auction.

Both heads of The Stephens County Humane Society and Forman Prairie House, Patti Whitaker and Laura McGouran, saw a unique opportunity to partner together for the dog wash and raise money to help with the needs for both prominent nonprofits in the Stephens County Community. Both organizations were happy with the turnout and the funds raised will benefit both greatly.

The Humane Society will be partnering with Goodwill during the World’s Largest Garage Sale and every pound of leftover items ten cents will be donated to the shelter. They will also be hosting their next major event on October 17th at Fuqua Park and that will be Bark in the Park.

The Forman Prairie House is allowing members of the community to rent out the house for small gatherings and both appreciate all the support they have received from the community members.
