Students Discover Icons of Black History

Students in Erin Herchock’s fifth grade class pose in front of the mural the class made for Black History Month. The mural was a collaborative effort in which each student had a portion of the mural to color, then the class assembled the entire piece. “We did it just out of preparation for our lessons that we’re doing for this month,” Herchock said. “They didn’t really know what it was going to look like until we put it together.” Pictured are, front row: Bruer Vankirk, Millie Sanders, Connor Voelker.
