"Butch" Jerry W. Forbes

"Butch" Jerry W. Forbes was born July 14, 1939 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to James "Blackie" Henry Forbes and was later adopted by his aunt, Elenora (Quinton) Forbes. He passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022, with his wife by his side at his home in Marlow. He was 82.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Thursday, February 17, at 2:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home in Duncan with Pastor David Woods, Glorybound Baptist Church of Marlow, officiating. Butch proudly served his country in the US Army from 1958 to 1960. He was employed as a hairdresser for many years. He was a member of the Duncan Elks Club and the Duncan Country Club where he played golf regularly. He was ornery and funny. He loved swimming and was always very active until recently. He enjoyed doing stained glass pictures. He loved Christmastime because he enjoyed looking at all of the Christmas light displays. He was a volunteer for the 5th Street Mission. Butch was a kind and gentle man.
He married Jolene Loyd on May 2, 2003 at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They enjoyed 18 wonderful years together before his passing.
Butch is survived by his wife, Jolene; children: Shelly Forbes and Tiffany Myers of Ridgedale, Missouri, Julie and Gary Bell of Jones, Oklahoma, Trisha and David Loyd Mathews of Marlow; grandchildren: Bailey and Jeremy Lowe of Jones, Peter and Lindsey Bell of Halethorpe, Maryland, Michael Bell of Tulsa, Memory Bearce Chisum of Marlow, Holdan and Shiloh Bearce of Duncan, Mila and Dillen Seeberger of Velma, Mallory and Bailey Webb of Duncan, Myleah Bearce of Marlow, Noah Loyd Overshine of Marlow; great grandchildren: Logan and Haylen Chisum of Marlow, Ezra and Beatrice Lowe of Jones, Barrett and Ivy Webb of Duncan; brother, Larry and Tricia Forbes of Velma; and sisters: Kay Forbes and Norman Shirley of Nashville, Tennessee, Connie Chapell of Norman, and Carol Forbes of Marina del Rey, California.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Forbes; father, Blackie Forbes, mother, Elenora Forbes; and sister, June Evelyn Deckard.
