Viola Smithey Sanders

Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in the Marlow Cemetery. Burial and all arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow. Visitation for Viola will be at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 21, 12:00-5:00 PM. Viola Smithey Sanders ceased her pain and suffering, and left her earthly home on June 19, 2022. She was born to Roy D. Smithey and Frieda (Schwartz) Smithey on May 24, 1956 in Duncan. During her early childhood years, the family moved around alot and finally settled on a dairy farm west of Marlow, where she started school. She graduated from Marlow High School in 1975. Through the years she made a living doing odd jobs in Marlow. She was married to Richard Sanders till his passing in 2011. Viola was stricken with bad health for many years and in 2018 was admitted to a nursing home. She was preceded in death by her parents, nephew Robby Sheffield, and her husband. Survivors include two sisters: Peggy Reavis of Rush Springs and Beverly Rackler and husband Michael of Comanche; one brother Bill Smithey and wife Phyllis of Chickasha; one nephew O.J.
