Hiram Lawrence May 1963-2022 Sugar Land, TX

Hiram Lawrence May passed away peacefully at the age of 59, at Houston Methodist Hospital in Sugar Land, Texas. He was a loving and devoted son, brother, uncle and a wonderful friend to many. Lawrence is survived by his sisters; Dessie J. (May) Panzitta of Richmond, TX; Debbie S. (May) Careathers (Kent) of Duncan, OK; and Louisa A. (May) Scheffler (Leon) of Southlake, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father; Jessie J. May, mother; Felicitas Nina (Galang) May; and brother, Jesse J. May III.

Lawrence was born and graduated from high school in Marlow, Okla. He worked at many jobs throughout his life, but was especially proud to have worked for the company his father was with for many years, Chicago Bridge and Iron (CBI). His final position was as an Assistant Manager at Wendy’s in Richmond, TX.

Lawrence, along with his father and brother, joined the Mason’s in Marlow. He was a volunteer with the American Red Cross and was especially proud of the plaque he received for his participation in the relief efforts during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Christmas was his favorite holiday and he enjoyed playing Santa for many friends and organizations bringing joy to numerous children. Lawrence was a proud member of the United Methodist Church in Marlow, Ok where he loved singing in the choir.

Lawrence was so proud of his family. He adored his sisters and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews, who lovingly knew him as Uncle Lali. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

As per his wishes, he will be cremated and requested no memorial service. He also requested that all who knew and loved him to recall their best memories of him and hold those thoughts close.
