Short was a true cowboy and loved all that it was about. He worked at various Texas panhandle ranches and feed yards throughout his cowboy career. He was also a true role model and hero to his kids and close friends who were like family. Short was of Christian faith and chose to worship out in the open plains and pastures.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Margie Bass and George and Billie Sites.

His stories, jokes and conversations will live on forever in the hearts of all that knew him. Short was a simple man and enjoyed the simple things in life: a loving family, great friends, a faithful horse, a good story, a nice cold beer and visiting out in front of his home in Sunray on “The Porch of Knowledge.”

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Crazy Dog Ladies of Sunray, PO Box 885, Sunray TX 79086.
