Sunshine OHCE members volunteered over 3,551 hours in 2022
Sunshine OHCE met Thursday Feb. 9, 2023, at the Stephens County Fairgrounds. Sandy Pogue was the hostess. The devotional was given by Sheila Ely and was entitled “Heaven’s Grocery Store,” noting that everything we need to lead a successful Christian life has already been paid for a long time ago by Jesus.
There were 26 members present. Linda Lee was welcomed as a new member. All answered the roll call question “Do you exercise daily?”
Potential projects for the coming year were discussed and it was decided that Sunshine would continue to provide food monthly for the “Blessing Boxes.” Jane Mitchell advised that last year Sunshine donated approximately 1,174 pounds of food which was taken to the county “Blessing Boxes” and over 900 packs of crackers (with 6-9 individual packages each) were distributed to Gabriel’s House for children to take home. Sunshine members also volunteered over 3,551.50 hours to projects in the community in 2022.
All were reminded that there will be an OHCE County Council Meeting on Feb. 28, at the Stephens County Fairgrounds. Sunshine will be the hostess for this meeting with a theme of “Winter Wonderland.” The lunch meal will be provided at no cost which will be a baked potato bar with a variety of meat and other toppings.
